A: I offer Counselling, a type of talk therapy. My approach is humanistic and non-directive. The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) website has lots of information if you would like to learn more about counselling and psychotherapy.
A: No, you do not need a formal diagnosis of autism, adhd etc to work with me at Diverse Therapy.
My client base is broad and I work with people who do not identify as neurodivergent (sometimes referred to as neurotypical or neuro-normative). I also work with those who do consider themselves neurodivergent (with or without formal diagnosis).
A: You can get in touch via the contact form or email hello@diversetherapy.co.uk and I'll get back to you within 48hrs with more information about my availability, scheduling a session and introductory call.
A: An introductory call allows us to explore working together. We can then agree on a suitable session time, and I will provide further booking information and answer any questions you may have about how therapy works.
A: The first session is where we start to get to know each other. We'll talk in more detail about what brings you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. What we talk about will vary depending on what you want help with. You can expect a warm, non-judgmental environment where you can express yourself freely.
A: Therapy sessions typically last 50 minutes, generally taking place once a week at a time/day we agree on together. Although this can be discussed and adjusted depending on the circumstances.
A: The length of your therapy will be tailored to your individual needs. We shall discuss this at the beginning of your therapy journey and review during the process.
A: Yes, I offer both in-person sessions in Banbury, Oxfordshire and online sessions via a secure video platform or on the telephone, depending on your preference.
