My personal experiences have profoundly influenced my understanding of mental health and well-being. As a woman who discovered later in life that I am Autistic and ADHD (AuDHD), I have experienced a feeling of being out of step with the world without fully understanding why.
I wholeheartedly believe in the healing power of connection, a feeling I only began to experience when I trusted those around me.
My goal is to create that same sense of trust with you by working in a trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming way. I am committed to nurturing an inclusive environment where you feel your experiences are validated and your voice matters.
This is why I founded Diverse Therapy, a counselling service designed to provide a safe and welcoming space for you to explore, heal and grow.
Please see my Services page for more information about the counselling services I offer.
As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to suit your individual needs. My core training is rooted in humanistic, non-directive talk therapies, including Person-Centred, Gestalt, and Transactional Analysis. These approaches value your autonomy, self-awareness, and capacity for growth. In addition, my practice is informed by ongoing professional development in areas such as Attachment theory, Polyvagal theory, and creative methods of working. This allows me to support clients flexibly and responsively, integrating both mind and body-based perspectives to enhance emotional safety and connection.
I support clients experiencing a range of issues including: anger, anxiety, apathy & depression, grief and loss, overwhelm (burn-out), relationship difficulties, rejection sensitivity, low self-esteem, self-harm, stress, shame & trauma.
Within our counselling sessions, we may work towards:
I offer a confidential space where clients explore their feelings, gain insight into their experiences, and work towards healing and personal growth. For my neurodivergent clients, specifically those who are Autistic, ADHD and AuDHD, I understand how important it is to work with a therapist who respects your unique experiences and offers therapy which considers your needs.
I am committed to working in a trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming way, adapting my approach to meet these needs wherever possible. This may look like making some adjustments to the therapy space itself, or a reminder text before sessions. I encourage an open dialogue where we regularly review how therapy is progressing and discuss any changes that can support the process.
